Ruth's Snickerdoodles

"Kids will love them"
Ingredients
  1. 1 cup shortening
  2. 1 1/2 cups sugar
  3. 2 eggs
  4. 2 3/4 cups flour
  5. 2 tsp cream of tarter
  6. 1 tsp soda
  7. 1/4 tsp salt
  8. 2 tbsp sugar
  9. 2 tsp cinnamin
  10. 1 tsp pure vanilla
Preparation
  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Mix shortening, eggs, and 1 1/2 cups of sugar thoroughly.
  3. Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting and blend with cream of tarter, soda, and salt.
  4. Stir in and shape into 1" balls.
  5. Roll balls in mixture of cinnamin and sugar.
  6. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes (cookies puff at first then flatten out). Makes 4 dozen
